Meeting Approach
Shaping the Future of Dental Education III – Oral Health from a Global Perspective draws on our previous meetings to further explore, discuss and reach consensus using the four pillars of the Shaping meetings approach:
- Assessment
- Global networking
- Inter professional education
- Scientific and technological discoveries
For Brescia, to give direction to discussions and debate, an overarching theme of ‘Oral Health from a Global Perspective' has been added.
The proven format of allowing delegates dedicated blocks of time to engage and delve in depth into the four topics remains. However, in response to London 2017 feedback the schedule has been adjusted to allow for each delegate to experience two four hour workshop during the meeting.
Our workshop facilitators, Dr Cynthia Gadbury-Amyot (USA), Dr Irina Dragan (USA), Dr James Field (Europe) and Dr Upen Patel (Europe) have created four highly interactive and informative workshop sessions for delegates to select. Each workshop will feature respected speakers from both sides of the Atlantic to contextualise the content and as always delegate interaction and engagement is encouraged.
On conclusion of the meeting, as was the case with Shaping II in London 2017, meeting outputs will be freely shared so as to advance dental education internationally.
